2013 in review

This is me procrastinating.  I have a New Year's Eve party to go to, but not for a while.  And catching up on my blog seemed like a more fun idea that finishing packing up the Christmas decorations.

So in pictures, 2013 in review....

I ran a Marathon!

Yes, I'm still talking about that!

After the marathon, I basically quit running and discovered a new sport.

I painted a masterpiece!

I finished my last residency inpatient hospital shift and I look oh so good afterwards.

I graduated residency!

And after 11 years away, moved home again!

Took a much needed vacation to Hawaii

Made Sief drive 99% of the Road to Hana.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

I will go back.

I became a jewelry model for a day, after being "discovered" at the Raley's redbox.

Marianne turned 30!

I ran my first mud run!

We can't forget, I got my first real job outside of residency.  I am lucky to be part of such a wonderful group of physicians.  I still have so much more to learn, but I love my job and couldn't be happy.  

It's so nice to finally be home after 11 years away.  It feels like I never left.  I can't wait to spend 2014 making new friendships, really settling into my new life and job back home.  Here's to 2014 being a great year too!

Back in the habit

Went for a run the other morning. It's been a while. I got some new shoes. Yeah! 

I ran at 6am in 80 degree weather. You just gotta love Tucson and the awesome weather. :)

I don't know how I ran in the heat last year. 

I'm hoping the mornings in Chico are a little cooler.

A day in the life of Buster

It's rough being Buster.

First he spent the night before at Bart's house - they had a slumber party, because I had to spend the night in the hospital.  The next morning, we (Buster, Bart, Penny, Sarah, and I) went to our new favorite place - The Coffee Loft.

The Coffee Loft is a coffee shop with a dog park in the back.  So we can sit out back sipping on our coffees and watching the dogs run around.  The best part is the dogs are allowed inside the shop as well.

Then he proceeded to sleep the rest of the evening away because he had such an adventurous day!

My new love

I haven't been running nearly as much as I should be - especially since I have a 5K coming up in July with my mom.  We'll be running in Chico on the 4th of July!

But I've been spending my exercise/work out time somewhere else these days.  Megan and Sarah got me going to the climbing gym several months ago now and well...I'm hooked.

It's my new favorite activity - I'm stronger than I think I've ever been before.  I can do pull-ups, which is amazing and I don't think I've ever been able to do before.  And I will spend hours at the climbing gym and not even feel like 5 minutes has passed.

If you can believe it - I even got my mom to go climbing with me in Sacramento the last time I was home!

Couch to 5K

Congratulations to my momma!  I just wish I had a medal for her.  Next time.
In 8-9 weeks my mom went from the couch to running a 5K with me in Tucson! Yahoo!
And she still looks good! :)
