Day #132: Dogs like it when their mama has a day off
Just for the record - it is actually 148 days into the year. I'm just behind.
After getting back from vacation (which I will post more pics of later), I had to work through last weekend to make up for the Monday I took off. So I worked the past 12 days in a row, with yesterday being my first day off. I'm not complaining - I did this to myself and work right now doesn't start until 8:30am, which is pretty much sleeping in for me.
Anyhoo...let's just say the doggies enjoyed their mama's day off because they got spoiled! I know surprising.

They were almost out of dog food - so I had to get them some more.
They ate their vegan dog food just fine yesterday.
I talked to the company representative at the store I went to, and the vegan food has even MORE protein than their lower calorie for weight reduction food.
This is the brand, I've been feeding them already.
Yummy!
And I don't remember if I've told you or not, but dogs are omnivores and can live well and happily on a vegetarian diet. Cats on the other hand cannot - they are truly carnivorous animals.
New eco-friendly bed! Yahoo!!!!
Yes, I see the perfectly good bed in the background, but that one is the size for one wiener and I have 2!
But - I think Penny needs to learn how to share.
Redneck screen/dog door. Aka - magic mesh.
$15 at Target, hung with 3M velcro tabs (I didn't trust the stick 'ems that cam in the box)
Those are magnets in the middle that magically close behind you when you walk in/out of the "screen"
It was to keep the bugs out and the dogs can walk in/out of the door by themselves because they love to sunbathe. Current problem is Penny is afraid of it.
She'll get past it I'm sure. She learned to use a doggy door which is scarier than this.
See - Penny can share. That or Buster got there first!

Day #132: Vegan Mojito Cupcakes
Best cupcakes I've ever made.
The mint accent on the cupcakes would be direct farm to table mint. That's right - the mint came from JChun's front yard mint farm, straight to the table on these cupcakes. Oh so green. :)

Day #131: Solar Eclipse
So there was a solar eclipse today, that could be seen in Arizona. I almost forgot, but thankfully a buddy of mine texted me to remind me.
Now you are not supposed to look at a solar eclipse directly or even with regular sunglasses. You need fancy glasses.
Well - I don't have fancy glasses, so per the internet, you can view it upside down through a pin hole.
Take a piece of paper, cardboard, etc - put a pin hole in it and then reflect the eclipse onto another piece of paper. See below
Ohhh.... Ahh....
A pic of me holding my pin hole piece of trader joe bag in my mouth, while trying to take a picture of the eclipse with my other hand.
Then I got smarter. To make the image bigger separate the pieces of paper more.
So I taped it. My shadow with pinhole paper.
Eclipse is on the paper taped to the door, but you can't see it. Just trust me.
Ohh....Ahhh....

Day #128: It's a Planogram
Just in case you ever wondered how they decided to stock the drink cooler.
It's not random.
In fact it's quite the opposite with a "Planogram."

Day #123: To The Highlands
Yesterday we had a driver take us to the Dewer's distillery in Aberfeldy. J.K. Rowling has a house there as well and soon will be coming out with a book geared toward adults.
Anyway - we took a distillery tour and learned all about how Dewer's scotch is made. No pictures inside the actual distillery. They don't want us stealing their secrets. Of course there was a sampling at the end. I have to post those pictures later because they were taken with a real camera and not my iPhone, so I can't upload them to the internet while on vacation.
After our Derwers experience we had a nice lunch and then went to see the Sterling Castle. The countryside and the castle were so beautiful.
Only disappointment of the day was that I did not see a Highlands Cow. One of the long hair shaggy cows.
See pictures below. Again, I apologize if they are out of order. The only picture from the distillery is obvious. The rest are from the castle.

Day #122: A Day in Edinburgh
1st day in Edinburgh. We toured the town on a hop on/off bus and then Sarah and I went on a hike.
We did not go into the castle today, because we are waiting for my cousin Jared to joing us.
Here are a few pics from today. They are not in any order because I don't know how to choose the order when posting from my iPad/iPhone.
The building is the royal physicians college.

Day #117: Spot the Leaf
Not sure if you remember or not, but the LEAF is the all electric car by Nissan.
Last year, my Dad and I test drove one. It's pretty awesome.
I can't yet afford one (trust me I checked just the other day after I shelled out $800 to get a few things fixed on my car) and there is a waiting list.
It's a new game of mine to spot as the leaf's as I can, see previous post Day #56.
So, I try to take a picture or have my passenger take a picture whenever possible and text it to my Dad to annoy him when leaf spotting :)
There are actually a fair number of leafs in Tucson. I also probably see the same few repeatedly :)
I'm pretty sure there is a blue one that lives semi-near me.
Whomever owns the car likes to shop at Trader Joes and Sunflower Market - just like me :)
So....here's the game. Can you spot the leaf?
It gets harder as you go...
