Saturday Night: Double Check Ranch Pasture Dinner

Now this is not like the Farm Sanctuary in Orland, California - I went to last year.  This is quite different.  The animals are treated well, but at the end of they day, they end up at the slaughter house.  They raise pasture/grass-fed beef.  We went to a farm-to-table dinner, with nearly all local ingredients from various vendors from my favorite farmer's market.  We arrived early, had a farm tour, and even stood inside a one-man slaughter house prior to our meal, which surprisingly did not have a lot of meat - which of course was fine by me.

Girl's Night.  Megan and I went to a painting class tonight.  I got a deal on Amazon local.

Happy Birthday to me...a day late

Yesterday was my birthday.  Thank you to everyone who sent me a card in the mail or posted on my facebook wall.  It helped make my day special.  I worked yesterday and then had some friends over for pizza and beer.  We were supposed to play games, but just ended up talking.  :)
All in all it was a good day.  I stayed up too late and am tired tonight.  Early bedtime for this ol' timer and Maude.

Introducing Maude

So about 2 weeks ago, I noticed it.  I was washing my hands in the bathroom at work and I looked up, only to see, *gasp* a gray hair!  I was too busy at the time to take a picture, but don't worry that same gray hair appeared another day and this time I captured that silvery little bugger.

I've named my gray hair.  Her name is Maude.  She needed an elderly sounding name.  No I have not plucked her.  Not yet anyway.
